There are some pros and there are some con's on consumerism. The one that is really important is recycling, it's good for the environment and we get to ruse things that would have just been thrown in the dump. We also now have better and more technology, with technology we can make more money, so it's a win for the both of us. To go along with all these things we just talked about and more we have stores to sell all of this merchandise, tech, and recycles things. The bad thing is there are still some cons that go with consumerism. One of the biggest things is the pain and hurt we put on the environment. Things like smog and smoke that come from all the factories that produce the things we buy. Some factories even have sewage and and toxic chemicals that goes into the lakes and ponds near the factories. Another big thing is the overflowing amount of garbage in the landfills. In conclusion, there are some pros and cons of consumerism, but to me consumerism is more of a good thing than a bad one.

When I get money from my parents or from anyone for that matter it immediately goes into the bank not to come out until I buy a car. So let’s say my mom gives me ten dollars for my allowance for this week, then it will go straight into the bank the next day it’s open. Everything I get goes into the bank, so you might wonder how I get anything that costs money or how I get to go out with my friends. What I do is kind of like having two banks, one for my money, and the other is my mom and dad’s money. So whenever I need some money to go eat I just ask my mom and she’ll give it to me. It's just that simple I don't know why other kids don't do this. After using the money from my mom I get to keep the change, so I have a pretty good stash of change. If i’m lucky and my mom forgets about it then I get to keep all the money from whatever I spent it on. One time I was with my friends and I didn’t spend a dollar but my mom gave me twenty. You probably know what I did with that money, I kept all twenty of it, it seems kind of evil but it’s just plain genius. That's just the way that I am, I love money and if I get it, I keep it and don't spend it. In conclusion, I really like money and I'm just not going to spend it unless I have to.

My thoughts on the 24 hours of collecting all of our trash was good and bad. When the idea was put out it sounded fun and exciting for me and many others. Once we got the trash bags and actually started the project it wasn’t as fun anymore. When I got out of class it was only me and about fifty other people keeping trash out of hundreds of kids, so it was a little weird. The good thing was most people knew what we were doing so not everybody had to ask when they walked bye. While in school I didn’t have that much trash so it wasn’t a lot to carry around. Once school was out I looked to see how much trash I had, and it was only a few small pieces of trash. When I got home it was really hard to remember to keep my own trash. During dinner and after dinner it was a little weird having to put all my trash in the bag. I ate most my food, so my bag didn't start stinking later on in the day. After dinner I checked my bag again, but thins time it was almost halfway full. The bags were really thin so by the end of the day I had one or two small holes. When I got up the next morning and thought about having to go to school with all that trash, it just seemed weird. So I got ready and ate my breakfast but I only produced a little trash then. When I got on the bus everyone was asking me why I had a trash bag, so I told them but the questions were not as bad a I thought they would be. Once at school all the kids on my team had bags of trash and about the same amount of trash as me, so it didn't feel that weird. When third hour came and I had Language Arts I was relieved, I could stop carrying the trash. So we dumped it out and saw how much trash everyone had produced, and it was a lot. I learned that just in one day everyone produces lots of trash, but there's a way to stop this. Everyone needs to live by this rule Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
